Kanpur: In a tragic incident, Aarav Mishra, grandson of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, allegedly committed suicide at his home in Kanpur, Danik Bhaskar reported on Tuesday.
Aarav, a 16-year-old student of 11th grade at The Jain International School, was found alone at the residence in the Purana Kanpur area of Kohna.
Reports said that Aarav’s parents were away in Bhagalpur for Chhath Puja, while his sister was at university. His sister, Manya Mishra, reportedly discovered his body after returning home and finding no response at the door.
Authorities recovered a suicide note from Aarav’s mobile notepad, in which he mentioned troubling dreams urging him to harm himself or his family. Messages on his phone suggested he had been struggling mentally for some time, describing recurring visions of faces instructing him to commit violent acts.
Alok Mishra, Aarav’s father, confirmed that his son had shared with his sister on Diwali that he was seeing disturbing faces in his dreams. Family sources said Aarav had been seeking help for these psychological challenges, but the exact circumstances leading to his death remain under investigation.
Kohna police, led by Station In-charge Vinay Tiwari, have seized the mobile phone for forensic analysis and are questioning family members to understand the background of the incident. No external foul play has been reported so far.
