Shimla: The Additional District and Sessions Judge-II, Shimla, Yajuvender Singh, on Thursday upheld the May 3, 2025, order of the Shimla Municipal Corporation declaring the five-storey Sanjauli mosque building unauthorized and directing its demolition.

The court dismissed appeals filed by the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board and the Sanjauli Mosque Committee, confirming that the entire structure, from ground to top floor, was built without proper authorization.

Advocate Jagat Pal, representing the petitioner, stated that this is the fourth consecutive order over the past year reinforcing the mosque’s illegal status. He urged the Municipal Commissioner to begin demolition without delay and warned of approaching the High Court if further appeals are filed.

Vijay Sharma of Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti welcomed the verdict, calling it a victory for the “Sanatan society’s struggle” and demanded immediate action, emphasizing that protests will continue until the structure is removed.
